Casual Sports Coach – Soccer & Basketball (Kicks n Hoops) About Us: Kicks n Hoops is a new, community-driven sports program run as an after school program in various schools. We run fun, skills-based sessions for children in Kindergarten to Year 6, focused on teamwork, coordination, and confidence through sport. We’re looking for passionate, energetic coaches to join our growing team and lead weekly after-school sessions in the following locations:
- Monday: Soccer – Excelsior Public School
- 4 pm to 5 pm
- Tuesday: Basketball – Darcy Road Public School
- 4 pm to 5 pm
- Wednesday: Basketball – Bayanami Public School
- 4 pm to 5 pm
- Thursday: Soccer – Arncliffe Public School
- 4 pm to 5 pm What You’ll Do:
- Deliver engaging, age-appropriate soccer or basketball sessions (skills, mini games, teamwork).
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for all kids, regardless of ability.
- Manage small groups (up to 20 kids) with enthusiasm and structure.
- Communicate effectively with parents and the OOSH team.
- Assist in occasional community events or future school programs. Requirements: To keep things qualified (and compliant with NSW regulations), you must have:
- ✅ Working With Children Check (WWCC) – mandatory.
- ✅ First Aid & CPR certification (HLTAID011 minimum) – preferable
- ✅ Community Coaching Accreditation (through Football NSW or Basketball NSW) or relevant experience coaching kids aged 5–12.
- ✅ Child Protection Awareness Training (can be completed online via Office of the Children’s Guardian).
- ✅ A friendly, reliable, and patient personality — kids can smell fear Nice to Have:
- Cert III or IV in Sport, Fitness, or Early Childhood Education.
- Experience in after-school or holiday programs.
- Dual-sport capability (able to coach both soccer and basketball). Details:
