Join a high‑performing team focused on the design, procurement, construction and delivery of purpose‑built, highly capable fleet assets for the NSW State Emergency Service. Temporary full‑time role until 31 March **** (with possibility of extension). Location: NSW State Headquarters, Wollongong. About the opportunity The Asset & Facilities Officer plays a key role in fleet‑related procurement activities, financial tracking and reporting, and works closely with fleet builders to support the delivery of fleet assets on time, within budget and to agreed quality and operational standards. Responsibilities
- Undertake procurement activities, including Requests for Tender (RFT), Requests for Quotation (RFQ), contract extensions and associated change notices or variations.
- Support the preparation and progression of briefing notes related to fleet procurement and contract management activities.
- Liaise closely with fleet builders to confirm build slots and support build planning activities.
- Support procurement compliance and effective contract management for fleet‑related activities.
- Undertake financial processing and budget management tasks, including invoice processing, journal entries, budget tracking, and financial reporting.
- Participate in activities to support the agency during operational or emergency responses at NSW SES locations, where the requirements are within the scope of your skills and knowledge, and participate in an on‑call roster if required. About you
- Be organised, proactive, accountable and thrive in a complex and quick‑paced workplace.
- Be able to think critically, analyse data and solve problems.
- Have robust and adaptable writing skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Be a confident and clear communicator who can effectively engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a strong focus on customer service.
- Be a self‑motivator, highly capable of working autonomously and able to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Have a sound understanding of NSW Government Procurement, Supply and Fleet policy and practices.
- Have thorough working knowledge and experience with procurement, supply, facilities and/or fleet policy and practices.
- Have thorough knowledge of AIIMS principles and processes, or be willing to obtain competence within 12 months. What we can offer you
- 35‑hour work week with potential for flexible arrangements such as a nine‑day fortnight or a four‑day work week, depending on role requirements.
