Principal Advisor – Information Security (Woodville South)

An exciting and newly created opportunity has emerged within one of South Australia’s most progressive and innovative councils. A strategic leadership role focused on cyber and data governance, AI strategy and emerging technology, the Principal Advisor – Information Security. City of Charles Sturt is on the look out for a commercially astute and strategically driven Principal Advisor to provide trusted advice across information security, cyber resilience, governance and innovation initiatives. This is a highly visible role offering exposure to Executive Leadership, governance committees and leading sector wise transformation projects helping shape the future of local government. Reporting to the Manager Information Services, this role will focus on strengthening and evolving the organisation’s governance frameworks across information security, cyber risk, privacy, data governance and emerging technology. With strong foundations already established, this role will focus on continuous improvements, strategic influence and helping shape the future roadmap rather than building a function from scratch. Working closely with a highly capable and collaborative leadership group across architecture, applications, operations and transformation, while also overseeing a growing governance function. To be successful you will show that you can contribute to innovative AI and digital initiatives that are already positioning the City of Charles Sturt as a leader within the local government sector. We are seeking an experienced governance, cyber technologist who enjoys operating at a strategic level and influencing outcomes through credibility, communication and solid stakeholder engagement. More than just the technical understanding, this role will focus on leadership, advisory capability, governance maturity and the ability to build trusted relationships across the organisation.
