Our client, SODHI FAMILY TRUST, operating as SODHI FARMS, is currently seeking a skilled and dependable Irrigationist to manage and maintain irrigation systems across their blueberry farm operations. This role involves setting up, monitoring, and troubleshooting irrigation infrastructure to ensure precise water delivery for optimal blueberry crop health and productivity. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with drip and micro-sprinkler irrigation systems, a robust understanding of water management and soil moisture requirements for blueberries, and the ability to work independently in outdoor conditions. · determining hydraulic parameters, implementing irrigation programs, scheduling irrigations, managing pumping systems, applying designs, and supervising installation and maintenance. Duties:
- Determine hydraulic parameters for blueberry irrigation systems
- Implement irrigation programs tailored to blueberry crop requirements and seasonal conditions
- Schedule irrigation cycles to maintain optimal soil moisture and plant health
- Select, operate, and manage pumping systems for efficient water distribution
- Interpret and apply irrigation system designs suitable for blueberry farms (e.g., drip/micro-sprinklers)
- Supervise installation of irrigation systems across planting areas
- Oversee maintenance and repairs to ensure continuous and efficient operation
- Monitor water usage and system performance to support sustainable farming practices
- Ensure compliance with farm procedures, biosecurity, and workplace health and safety standards Qualification:
· AQF Certificate I or II or Higher
