**About The Role**: **ARC (The Australian Reinforcing Company)** are looking for a motivated and detail-driven **Production Planner** to join our tight-knit and experienced planning team at **Hemmant**.
With strong team retention, deep industry expertise, and a collaborative work culture, you’ll be well-supported from day one. This role is key to ensuring the smooth and efficient coordination of daily production activities while meeting customer deadlines and maintaining operational efficiency.
As the central link between sales, scheduling, operations, customer service, despatch, and supply, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring everything runs to plan. You’ll manage production schedules, communicate updates, resolve issues, and help deliver the right product, at the right time, every time. It’s a fast-paced, hands-on environment where your ability to stay ahead of the curve will make a real impact.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Plan, monitor and coordinate daily production activities to meet customer and operational requirements
- Confirm delivery timelines with site personnel before scheduling work
- Manage and allocate customer orders into production efficiently and accurately
- Communicate delays, updates, and changes to relevant teams across the business
- Adjust production runs in response to changing demands without compromising delivery
- Ensure all drawings and documents are attached to schedules when required
- Work closely with supervisors and operations teams to help achieve DIFOT (Delivery In Full On Time) targets
You’re an organised and proactive problem-solver with a strong background in manufacturing, production planning, or scheduling. You understand how production and supply chain activities connect and are comfortable navigating shifting priorities in a high-volume environment.
You thrive in a collaborative setting, communicate clearly across teams, and have a solid focus on customer service, continuous improvement, and delivering results.
**We're looking for someone with**:
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment, including at least 2 years in a planning or scheduling role
- A qualification in Production, Manufacturing, or Engineering (preferred but not essential if experience is robust)
- Proven experience working with Lean or Competitive Manufacturing principles
- Experience with planning or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Symix, PlanX) and solid Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and organisational skills
- A customer-first mindset, strong initiative, and the ability to work well under pressure
- Experience in steel, construction, or supply chain industries will be highly regarded, but not essential.
