- Part Time We are seeking to establish a pool of Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer (AIEO)for permanent and fixed term, full time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period. Yanchep Secondary College (SC) provides young people in the Yanchep area with a high quality, comprehensive education. Yanchep Secondary College opened in 2018 in a brand new purpose built school. We offer a broad, high-level curriculum encompassing academic programs and vocational courses to provide students with opportunities to pursue learning interests that inspire and challenge them. We enrol students from years 7 to 12. Yanchep SC contains commercial kitchen and cafe and an arts centre for visual and performing arts. The school is designed to give students access to specialist subject teaching and the best learning practices to promote success and excellence. As an AIEO, you will ideally be well organised, reliable, and flexible whilst providing support and assistance to Aboriginal students, their parents/guardians, teachers, and the community through the knowledge, understanding and sharing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. AIEO’s should ideally be passionate about enabling Aboriginal students to be successful as Aboriginal people and will provide a safe and supportive environment for Aboriginal students. Ideal applicants will display a strong link to Aboriginal culture and establish positive working relationships with our families and local community. An ability to work well both in teams and individually to achieve successful outcomes for students and their families will be highly regarded. Want to know more? - Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of building culturally safe environments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Demonstrated effective organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of culturally responsive education programs and subsequent feedback and evaluation to teachers or allied health professionals.
