**The Opportunity**
We have an opportunity for a Biosecurity Officer to be part of our Biosecurity Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The Biosecurity Officer is responsible for coordinating and undertaking field-based biosecurity surveillance, conducting investigations relating potential breaches and inspection duties at entry points to Kangaroo Island. The primary purpose of the role is to provide biosecurity inspection activities and engagement with travelers to Kangaroo Island in accordance with the Landscape South Australia Act 2019, Livestock Act 1997 and Plant Health Act 2009.
The role contributes delivering the agency’s priorities including assisting the protection of Kangaroo Island primary industries particularly as they recover from the recent devastating bushfires.
The role contributes to delivering biosecurity inspection activities to manage risks to Kangaroo Island posed by animal and plant pests and diseases.

- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
- Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).

**Requirements**:
- Possession of a current driver’s licence and willingness to drive.
- Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required.
- You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations
**Remuneration**
OPS4
- $76,561 min
- $80,256 max per annum, plus superannuation
