This is where you come in. The Role We're looking for a Fleet & Operations Manager who is equal parts operator and leader. You'll be the second-in-command (2IC) — the person who keeps the whole machine running smoothly, makes the hard calls when the General Manager is unavailable, and never lets standards slip. This is not a desk job. You'll be across the rental fleet, the workshop schedule, the inventory, the team, and the customer journey — all at once. You thrive in quick-paced environments, you love systems, and you know how to get things done. What You'll Own Fleet & Rentals
- Oversee daily rental operations — fleet readiness, check-in/check-out, bond and payment documentation
- Manage fleet renovation, onboarding, and servicing schedules for the Scootery fleet
- Handle fleet parts, repairs, and maintenance management
- Insurance and accident case management, including follow-ups and documentation
- Manage security deposits and replacement bike allocation processes
- Fleet readiness reporting and performance monitoring Workshop & Motery
- Provide oversight of workshop coordination — escalate blockers, prioritise competing demands, ensure execution against schedule
- Maintain workshop cleanliness, safety standards, and tools
- Create and update job cards; support workshop flow Customer & Bookings
- Own daily customer communications across all channels
- Manage booking and quotation processes
- Drive improvements to customer service standards, response times, and the communication funnel Inventory & Retail
- Provide strategic direction on inventory management across Shopify (online) and in-store retail
- Assist with sourcing decisions and drive improvements in stock control and reorder discipline Team & Systems
- Support recruitment, rostering, and staff performance management
- Co-design performance frameworks for each role (first round within 90 days of starting)
- Implement and manage operational software, dashboards, AI tools, and reporting processes
- Enforce SOPs and drive training across the team Strategy & Growth
- Act as 2IC and ultimate operational decision-maker in the General Manager's absence
- Support strategic planning, marketing coordination, and growth opportunities
- Help prepare the business operationally for future sale, investment, or national expansion
- Drive national expansion readiness About You
- 3+ years in operations management — transport, automotive, rental, logistics, or hospitality (we're open-minded about the industry)
- You've led small teams and know how to hold people accountable while keeping morale high
- Comfortable with operational software, dashboards, and emerging AI tools — not intimidated by tech
- Robust communicator — clear with customers, direct with team, collaborative with leadership
- You can context-switch: fleet issue at 8am, inventory decision at 10am, staff review at 2pm
- High attention to detail and SOP discipline — you set the standard
- Experience in motorcycle, scooter, or automotive sectors is a big plus but not essential
