Placed.au is looking for a full time Chef for our client in Yarraville, Victoria. This role is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meals, collaborating on menu development, and maintaining food safety and operational standards in a busy kitchen environment. Job Description
- Prepare, cook, and properly present food for regular service.
- Collaborate with the other chefs and owner to plan and develop recipes and menus, considering factors such as seasonal availability of ingredients, the likely number of customers, portion size and final menu price.
- Prepare meals in line with agreed recipes.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels to reduce wastage.
- Order food and other supplies as needed in consultation and agreement with the Head Chef.
- Train staff as necessary utilising both on the job training techniques and when required send staff on approved external relevant training.
- Ensure all OHS requirements are complied with by all staff as well as patrons in back-of-house areas. Qualifications / Attributes
- Must hold a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, or at least three (3) years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
- Must possess at least three (3) years of relevant work experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and present food to a consistently high standard.
- Experience in menu planning, recipe development, and stock management.
- Knowledge of OHS requirements in a commercial kitchen environment.
