Support Worker Job Summary
We are seeking a patient and compassionate support worker to join our team and provide emotional and practical assistance to our clients. In this role, you'll make a significant difference in the quality of life for the people and families that you work with.
Support Worker Duties and Responsibilities
Take case notes, and maintain adequate records about the client's progress
Emotionally support clients by engaging in conversations and actively listening to their concerns
Help with the client's domestic tasks, including cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and shopping
Provide advice to clients about practical issues, including assisting with disability grants, finding suitable housing, and any other financial perks
Accompany clients to meetings with other healthcare facilities or agencies
Work with the families of clients to educate them about proper support for the client
Collaborate with other support workers to exchange advice and best practices
Continuously advance in the profession by attending various seminars, conferences, and other educational opportunities
Support Worker Requirements and Qualifications
Knowledge of standards and requirements in the support work field
Service-oriented with a passion for helping people
Solid interpersonal communication skills, with an emphasis on active listening
Ability to build robust relationships and gain trust
Empathetic approach, a non-judgmental attitude, and a willingness to be patient
Physical ability to complete domestic duties
Solid problem solving and leadership skills
Level head with the ability to stay calm, even in high-pressure situations
Time management skills and the willingness to prioritize the needs of many clients
Ability to maintain client confidentiality
Has atleast Cert III in Disability Support or Individual Support
6months of experience in a support worker role
Proven compassionate and patient demeanor
Up to date First Aid and CPR
NDIS Clearance and Working with Children Clearance
Job Type: Casual
Salary: $30.33
- $68.09 per hour
