- a large, high-volume venue right on the waterfront, known for its relaxed atmosphere, strong local following and busy trade year-round. With a bistro, functions and events, this is a kitchen that delivers consistent, quality pub food at scale. We're on the hunt for a hands‑on Head Chef to lead the kitchen, drive standards and take full ownership of BOH operations. This role suits a strong leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, knows how to manage costs, and can build and lead a solid, stable team. The Role As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the overall running of the kitchen, ensuring smooth service, consistent food quality and a well‑led team. You'll work closely with the Venue Manager and have support from the wider operations team. What You'll Be Doing
- Full ownership of kitchen operations
- Lead, train and develop your team
- Manage food and labour costs
- Drive consistency and service standards
- Oversee ordering, stock control and rostering
- Ensure food safety and WHS compliance
- Contribute to menu development and seasonal specials What We're Looking For
- Previous Head Chef or strong Sous Chef experience
- Experience in high-volume pub or bistro kitchens
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Solid understanding of food cost, labour and kitchen financials
- Hands‑on, organised and calm under pressure
