Technical Specialist Yeppoon

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist to join our Water and Waste Operations team on a temporary basis, up to April 2027. This is a senior specialist role responsible for providing expert technical and scientific advice across water supply, sewerage and waste management services.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance, driving continuous improvement and supporting the delivery of protected, high-quality water and waste services to the community.

In this role, you will: Provide high-level technical advice on water, sewerage and waste operations. Manage the Drinking Water Quality Management Plan (DWQMP) to ensure compliance with legislation and Australian Drinking Water Guidelines. Oversee Environmental Authorities for sewage treatment plants. Lead and implement Trade Waste and Recycled Water Management Plans. Conduct sampling, analysis, and reporting of water quality parameters. Manage complex projects and research initiatives aligned with organisational priorities.

About You:

You are a technically capable and solutions-focused professional with strong experience operating in a complex regulatory setting. You bring sound environmental and analytical skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and deliver high-quality outcomes.

You will bring: Tertiary qualifications in Science (or equivalent) and/or relevant significant experience; Robust understanding of regulatory and statutory requirements; Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills; and A current motor vehicle drivers licence.
