About the Team Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets. The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community. About the Opportunity We’re looking for a proactive and technically capable Reporting & Business Intelligence Analyst to support the Network Reporting Manager in delivering high-quality reporting, insights, and systems support services. This role plays a key part in enhancing reporting capabilities, improving data quality, and enabling better decision-making across the business. You’ll work with operational data, enterprise systems, and stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely, and meaningful insights that drive performance and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Provide first‑level support for reporting systems and data‑related queries
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytics using Power BI, SQL, and Excel
- Support data extraction and reporting from the Enterprise Data Warehouse
- Assist with performance reporting systems and business intelligence tools
- Support process improvement initiatives through requirements analysis and prototyping
- Coordinate system testing, data validation, and quality assurance activities
- Maintain system change logs and support documentation
- Assist with user access, profiles, and system configurations
- Liaise with software vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and implement changes
- Participate in projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the business What do we want from you?
- Tertiary qualification in Data Analytics, Business, Computer Science, or similar (or equivalent practical experience)
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence roles
- Understanding of data flows, systems and process mapping
- Strong technical skills in Power BI, SQL, and Excel
- Experience developing dashboards and translating data into meaningful insights
- Exposure to requirements gathering, systems analysis, or process improvement
- Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
