**The Role** JPEU is seeking dynamic and motivated individuals to take on the role of Test Officer within the Environmental Test Facility (ETF). The ETF conducts non-destructive test and evaluation trials on explosives platforms, munitions and other equipment across a range of environmental specialties.

These specialties include climatic (simulated weather), radiographic (x-ray), shock and vibration (shake and rattle). Environmental Test Officers under the guidance of their disciple Specialists and Team Leaders, support the set up and secure operation of equipment required to undertake testing activities. An internal engineering team and the wider JPEU engineering team support the ETF.

Test Officers will support environmental test programs and plans by establishing test areas and platforms, coordinating test programs, collecting test data, refurbishing work areas and undertaking non-technical inspection and maintenance of equipment.

Employment at Port Wakefield currently attracts a Special Defence Locality Assistance allowance of approximately $6,640.00 per annum ($255.36 per fortnight).

**About our Team** The ETF supports guided weapon and explosive ordnance Test and Evaluation activities. The ETF has capabilities enabling the climatic, non-destructive, vibration and mechanical testing of items, and other elements for artificial aging of Defence explosive ordnance. ETF personnel work in teams to deliver quality outcomes for Defence and its customers.

This role involves the handling of energetics, explosives and munitions. The team works with technology that aids in the provision of test outcomes, such as state of the art conditioning chambers (heating/cooling), vibration shakers and radiographic capabilities.

They will have the ability to:

- Interpret customer requirements, technical standards,
- Follow set work procedures,
- Produce trial activity reports and utilise a variety of technical and non-technical equipment, in order to capture required data.

They will have a keen eye for detail, and be able to identify potential issues within the data / test setup that may affect quality of data or accuracy of data for items being tested.
