Electrical & Electronics Assembly Technician (Geebung)

Electrical & Electronics Assembly Technician (Geebung)
Description
Technology manufacturing | Automotive AI | Low-voltage electrical assembly About CMT Scanner CMT Scanner is an Australian technology company changing the way dealerships and service centres inspect, document and quote vehicle repairs. Our scanner systems are installed in dealership service lanes and use cameras, lighting, sensors and software to capture high-quality vehicle images as vehicles drive through the scanner. The system helps identify dents, scratches, wheel damage and other vehicle condition issues, allowing dealerships to create repair opportunities while the vehicle is already on site. We design and build our scanner systems in-house, including the scanner arches, camera systems, lighting, low-voltage electrical panels, industrial computer hardware, power supplies, networking and control components. We are now looking for a hands-on Electrical & Electronics Assembly Technician to join our Geebung workshop and help build, wire, test and prepare CMT Scanner units for installation. About the role This is a practical, workshop-based role suited to someone who enjoys building technology products properly. You will help assemble CMT Scanner arches and associated control systems, including fitting cameras, lighting, sensors, cabling, connectors, power supplies, low-voltage switchboards, industrial computers and networking hardware. The work requires someone who is neat, methodical and confident working with wiring, connectors, control panels and electronic components. This is not a standard domestic electrical role. It is a product assembly role involving low-voltage electrical systems, electronics, computer hardware, cameras and networked devices. You do not need to be an automotive expert. We are more interested in someone who is careful, technically minded, reliable and able to follow build drawings, wiring layouts and assembly procedures. Our culture CMT Scanner operates with a simple standard: Smarter, Better, Faster. We are looking for someone who fits our values and takes pride in doing practical, high-quality work:
- Results First – you focus on getting the job done properly, follow the process and work efficiently.
- Unquestionable Quality – you care about neat wiring, clean assembly, accurate labelling and doing the job to a standard you are proud of.
- Play Fair and Play it Straight – you are honest, reliable and do the right thing with customers, suppliers and the team.
- Embrace Mastery – you want to keep improving and become excellent at your trade.
- There’s Always a Way – you stay practical and solution-focused when problems come up.
- We Are a Team – you respect the people around you and help others where you can.
- Have Fun and Have a Laugh – you work hard, but bring a positive attitude to the workshop. Key responsibilities Your duties will include:
- Assembling CMT Scanner arches and related hardware in our Geebung workshop.
- Installing cameras, lighting, sensors and other electronic components into scanner arches.
- Building and wiring low-voltage control panels and equipment enclosures.
- Installing power supplies, relays, control modules, industrial computers, networking hardware and associated cabling.
- Terminating, labelling and organising cables neatly and accurately.
- Assisting with basic configuration and testing of networked devices, cameras and control hardware.
- Reading and following wiring diagrams, build instructions and assembly checklists.
- Performing quality checks before scanners are packed or sent for installation.
- Troubleshooting basic wiring, connectivity and assembly issues.
- Keeping the workshop, tools and parts organised.
- Working with the engineering, software and installation teams to improve build quality and repeatability.
- Assisting with documentation of assembly processes as the product continues to scale. The person we are looking for This role would suit someone with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Low-voltage electrical assembly
- Electronics assembly
- Control panel or switchboard assembly
- CCTV or security systems
- Access control systems
- Home automation or smart building systems

- Data cabling or network hardware installation
- Industrial automation
- Mechatronics or robotics assembly
- Computer hardware or technology product assembly You may be a qualified technician, an experienced installer, a trades assistant with strong technical skills, or someone from an electronics/manufacturing background who enjoys detailed hands-on assembly work. Skills and experience Essential
- Practical experience assembling, wiring or installing electrical/electronic systems.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in neat workmanship.
- Ability to terminate, label and route cables cleanly.
- Comfortable using hand tools and workshop equipment.
- Ability to follow wiring diagrams, assembly drawings and checklists.
- Good troubleshooting mindset.
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently once trained.
- Willingness to learn our scanner system and follow standard build procedures. Highly regarded
- Experience with low-voltage switchboards or control panels.
- Experience with CCTV, cameras, sensors, lighting or access control systems.
- Basic computer networking knowledge, including routers, switches, Ethernet cabling and IP devices.
- Experience with industrial computers, power supplies, relays or PLC-style control hardware.
- Data cabling experience.
- Soldering, crimping or connector termination experience.
- Electrical licence, restricted electrical licence, cabling licence or security licence. A full electrical licence is not essential if the candidate has the right low-voltage assembly background. What we offer
- A hands-on role building real technology products, not repetitive basic assembly work.
- Exposure to automotive AI, computer vision, cameras, lighting, sensors and industrial hardware.
- A growing Australian technology business with international potential.
- Workshop-based role in Geebung.
- Opportunity to help improve build processes as the product scales.
- Supportive team environment with practical training on our scanner systems.
- Long-term chance for someone who wants to become a key part of our production and installation capability. Why this role matters Every CMT Scanner that leaves our workshop needs to be cleanly built, properly wired, accurately tested and ready to perform in a live dealership environment. This role is critical to the quality, reliability and scalability of our product. The right person will take ownership of the physical build quality of our scanners and help us produce systems that are consistent, professional and ready for deployment.
