Bar Manager / Head Bartender (Coorparoo)

Location: Coorparoo, Brisbane Salary: Competitive Hourly Rate + Weekend Penalty Rates + Superannuation Position Type: Casual / Full-Time (Depending on Experience) About NOVA NOVA is a modern Mediterranean Bar & Restaurant in Brisbane offering a combination of café, restaurant, cocktail bar, and nightlife experience. We are currently looking for an experienced and passionate Bar Manager / Head Bartender to lead our bar operations and help grow the beverage side of the business. This role is ideal for someone with strong cocktail knowledge, leadership skills, and experience managing a fast-paced hospitality venue. Key Responsibilities Bar Operations
- Prepare and serve cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages
- Create and develop signature cocktails and seasonal drink menus
- Maintain high-quality drink presentation and consistency
- Ensure smooth daily operation of the bar Team Management
- Lead, train, and supervise bartenders and bar staff
- Create a positive and professional team environment
- Assist with staff rostering and shift management
- Maintain strong communication with floor and kitchen teams Inventory & Stock Control
- Manage bar inventory and stock rotation
- Conduct weekly stocktakes and inventory reports
- Monitor wastage and control pour costs
- Coordinate ordering with suppliers and management Financial & Operational Duties
- Help improve bar sales and profitability
- Maintain beverage cost control
- Ensure correct cash handling and POS procedures
- Assist management with bar performance reporting Compliance & Standards
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of bar area
- Follow RSA and Queensland liquor regulations
- Maintain safety and operational standards at all times Requirements Essential
- Minimum 2 years experience in bartending or bar management
- Strong cocktail and beverage knowledge
- Leadership and team management skills
- Excellent customer service and communication
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Current RSA Certificate Preferred
- Experience creating cocktail menus
- Knowledge of inventory systems and stock management
- Wine and spirit knowledge
