- $106,557.18 to $118,949.67 + superannuation. The Opportunity As our Senior Economic Development & Industry Partnerships Officer, you'll do more than deliver projects. We’re looking for a connector to work with business leaders, developers, government and stakeholders to shape excellent places and thriving local economies. You’ll lead economic initiatives that directly support our city’s future, connecting Council with industry, influence place-based decision making, and helping to shape a thriving, sustainable local economy with a Gross Regional Product of $7.5 billion. Working in a diverse and dynamic municipality of nearly 100,000 residents, 8,600 businesses and more than 45,000 local jobs, you’ll play a critical role in linking industry opportunity with local impact. This role isn’t about sales or short-term deals, it’s about building relationships that lead to investment, inclusion and innovation. What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead strategic economic development and place based initiatives that support growth, innovation and employment.
- Build strong relationships with medium to large businesses, developers, investors and government to align opportunities with community benefit.
- Coordinate engagement across precincts and industries to activate business confidence and long-term resilience.
- Represent Council at regional forums (such as WoMEDA) and cross-sector partnerships that shape the future of the west.
- Provide expert advice and insight using data, policy and economic trends to inform investment decisions and programs.
- Influence planning, infrastructure, marketing and city positioning initiatives to support local industry and employment growth. What You'll Need To Succeed
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a related field desired
- Economic Development, Business Management, Commerce or Marketing.
- Experience working in or alongside business, industry, government or economic development settings.
- Proven ability to lead projects, manage stakeholder networks and facilitate complex partnerships.
- Confidence engaging with senior leaders across sectors, and a talent for seeing the opportunity in every conversation.
- A commitment to public value, and a belief in the role of local government as a place shaper, enabler and partner. To be considered for this role applications should include
