Our client is a Perth based civil contractor with an established track record delivering major bulk earthworks and civil infrastructure projects across Western Australia's resources sector. They have built their reputation through disciplined project delivery, strong commercial management and a leadership team that holds itself to a high standard. This is their most significant project award to date and they are committed to resourcing it with the best available talent in the market. About the Role An opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the full delivery of a $25 million greenfields bulk earthworks project on a Tier 1 resource site in the Pilbara. This is a FIFO position on a 2/1 roster, with mobilisation targeted for mid June 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to spend approximately two weeks in the Perth office prior to site mobilisation to engage with the broader project team and align on delivery strategy. The Senior Project Engineer will provide continuity of site leadership during the Senior Project Manager's rotation off. This is a high profile engagement for the business and the successful candidate will have genuine autonomy to shape how the project is resourced and run. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership and Delivery
- Take full ownership of project delivery from mobilisation through to completion
- Lead the site team including the Senior Project Engineer, supervisors and subcontractor workforces
- Drive programme performance and ensure milestone dates are achieved
- Establish and maintain a robust safety culture across the full project team
- Manage client and stakeholder relationships at a senior level throughout the project lifecycle Commercial Management
- Own the project budget and deliver against agreed cost targets
- Manage subcontract packages including scope, programme and commercial performance
- Identify and manage variations, claims and risk events in a timely manner
- Provide accurate and regular cost and programme reporting to senior leadership
- Support the management of procurement and supply chain for key project inputs Planning and Programme
- Develop and maintain the project master programme
- Coordinate plant, equipment, labour and logistics planning across the 2/1 roster
- Manage camp based workforce logistics in line with FIFO operational requirements
- Anticipate and mitigate schedule risk through proactive planning and resource management People and Team Management
- Lead, mentor and develop the project management team on site
- Work with the Project Engineer to ensure continuity of operations during R and R rotations
- Build a cohesive site culture that reflects the values and standards of the business
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of key site personnel Skills and Experience Required
- Demonstrated experience delivering bulk earthworks projects at a similar scale within the WA resources sector
- Experience of managing projects on BHP sites highly regarded
- Background working for a Tier 2 or Tier 3 civil contractor in a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager capacity
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project budgets and subcontract packages
- Proven ability to lead and develop high performing site teams in remote environments
- Experience working on Tier 1 resource sites with an understanding of associated compliance and reporting requirements
- Proficiency in project programming tools such as MS Project or Primavera
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage client relationships at a senior level What Is On Offer
