Production Manager - Agricultural Products (Rockhampton)

This role represents a great opportunity to run manufacturing for an Australian owned and managed business that is well established yet high energy and full of potential. Working in a state-of-the art plant here in Rockhampton you will lead a small team, work closely with R&D;, sales and company leadership to deliver Australian made products that enable productive farms across Australia. Your new role Your primary responsibility is to ensure that production targets and quality requirements are met. You will enable a safe and effective work setting and ensure that the manufacturing plant runs at optimum efficiency through regular inspection and proactive maintenance. Working with your close-knit team you will utilise your experience in manufacturing to develop the team and drive continuous improvement. In brief, your responsibilities include:
- Lead daily manufacturing operations across production, safety, quality and maintenance
- Drive continuous improvement, production efficiency and achievement of operational KPIs
- Manage production planning, inventory, logistics and raw material supply
- Oversee quality assurance, product standards and compliance processes
- Plan, forecast and manage to budget
- Coordinate maintenance activities and resolve operational issues
- Develop and lead a high-performing production team
- Work closely with sales and finance to meet production schedules and customer demand About You You are highly motivated and very focused on continuous improvement and productivity. You are passionate about quality and safety and have a methodical approach to systems. You possess strong electrical and/or mechanical knowledge and get satisfaction from solving problems with practical solutions. You bring the following skills and experience

- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Strong safety focus and ability to foster a safe work culture
- Supervisory and operational experience in manufacturing
- Experience with manufacturing systems and processes
- Focus on continuous improvement (ideally able to apply Lean process improvement principles in a small business environment)
- Hands-on technical problem-solving skills
- Commercial skills in planning and working to a budget
- Experience with automated or computer-controlled machinery
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable, hands-on and physically fit
- Forklift licence and current driver's licence
