Job Overview The position is a fixed-term arrangement for 12 months, requiring a weekly Wednesday Nephrology Outpatient Clinic (1 session, 3.5 hours per week) at Northern Health’s main Epping campus. The clinician will manage patients with established renal disease and will build expertise in renal disease management.

Responsibilities

Assess and manage patients attending the Nephrology Outpatient Clinic across stages of chronic kidney disease:

Early stage kidney disease

Late stage chronic kidney disease including end-stage kidney disease planning:

Renal transplantation assessment

Dialysis planning

End Stage Kidney Disease supportive care

Established end-stage kidney disease:

Dialysis care– haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis

Renal transplant care

Gain exposure to management of diabetic kidney disease, proteinuric kidney diseases, glomerular disease (glomerulonephritis), and genetic/inherited kidney disease (e.g., polycystic kidney disease).

Qualifications

Desire to enhance knowledge and management of chronic kidney disease in the local community.

Ability to promote and disseminate learning to fellow general practitioners.

Demonstrated excellence in communication and teamwork skills.
