Job Description As part of Nine Publishing, you will join the home of Australia’s premier news mastheads, including The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Australian Financial Review, Brisbane Times, and WAtoday. The Strategy team drives the division’s underlying business direction by planning, managing high-priority strategic projects, and overseeing key partnerships. Reporting to the Head of Strategy – Publishing, you will be the driving force behind the strategic initiatives and pilot programs that underpin the evolution of Australia’s most trusted news mastheads. You will transform complex data into compelling stories to gain buy-in and influence outcomes across the division. Your primary focus will be the end‑to‑end delivery of high‑priority projects that ensure our iconic brands continue to engage audiences and advertisers in a digital‑first world. Day To Day You Will
- Work with Publishing leadership, Finance and operational leads to support communication and delivery of Publishing strategy.
- Build financial models and business cases of varying complexity to guide strategic decision making.
- Define project deliverables, timelines, and scope with senior leadership.
- Lead cross‑functional teams to deliver strategic outputs within agreed timeframes.
- Monitor project progress and proactively communicate status updates to stakeholders.
- Coordinate all activities across the project lifecycle from planning to execution.
- Identify and elevate changes in project timing, cost, or scope to stakeholders.
- Foster strong cooperation between growth, product, finance, and editorial teams. What You’ll Bring
- Experience clearly and succinctly defining business problems and developing strategic recommendations.
- Prior experience managing diverse projects or a management consulting background.
- Proven ability to deliver complex solutions on time and within budget.
- Strong skills in financial modelling and data‑driven decision‑making.
- Exceptional communication skills for clear and influential stakeholder engagement.
- Relevant project management qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
